Fall Burlap Wreath

Hey there, today I wanted to share my new Fall Burlap Wreath I made yesterday for my front door. This was my first attempt at making a burlap wreath and lets just say I definitely will be making more, I LOVE it!  So I bought the wreath frame, & sparkle ribbons at Hobby Lobby, the burlap ribbon at wal-mart, the flower at Michaels and the pine cones I had in my stash. The wreath was easy to do, just kept looping the burlap through the slots of the wreath frame until it was all full. You can find directions to do this all over the net, by just googling it. Ok so then I wanted a pretty flower but I also wanted to add pine cones so that's were the idea came to me to combine them. I first decided how big I wanted it to be by laying out the pine cones in a circle behind my flower. I cut out a circle from cardboard (I used a juice box container) and two circles from felt. I sandwiched the card board between the felt to make it sturdy and used that as the base to glue the pine cones and flower on. I threaded some wire through the finished flower piece from behind to attach it to the wreath. I added a sparkle bow behind the flower using orange and brown sparkle ribbon layered, and the brown helped to tone down the orange. I love how it turned out. I added a strip of burlap as a hanger and that's it!  Check out my pictures...

pine cones all glued down and used a handy silicone mat
for this which is awesome! no glue sticks to it!

almost done  :0)

all hung up (of course using a command hook)

the bow and flower turned out perfect!

Well that's it, the wreath is hung and I am just loving looking at it. I will for sure be making more and for my craft shows now to. I have to make some for friends next then I will work on some Christmas ones.
Well have a great rest of the week and weekend, my daughter has her last volley ball game tonight and then next week will be playoffs and stuff so should be fun  :0)

What I have been working on

Hey there,   well I have been very busy lately stitching my wool items. I have finished 13 wool felt shelf pillows, and am putting the finishing touches on two candle mats. They all turned out so nice and I am so loving the colors on my candle mats. I also have five wool felt pocket hangers ready to assemble when I finish the candle mats, they are fall theme also.

alot of pillows

I like to do a few of the same projects at a time, it just seems to go faster. These are Penny Lane Primitive Patterns which I really love  :0)   I love making the wool felt items.

We also have been busy working on homecoming stuff since my daughter is now a freshman we have been busy working on the freshman float for the homecoming parade coming up in two weeks! So if you have ever worked on something like that you can relate to the stress and long hours involved. We are making progress but it does seem like it so much more has to be done and feels overwhelming. We have to go dress shopping this weekend and hopefully find a dress without having to drive all over the state looking for one!
I did have some great news, I was featured on an awesome blog- - I ordered cute printables from Heather at chickabug for my daughters fairy birthday party. Check out the post here ~ made my day!!

Well that's all for now, have a great week!

Kids cup make over~Fairy style

Hi there!    Today I wanted to share how I made a personalized cup for each of my daughters guests at her party. I started with the cute disposable cups Zoo Pals. They are perfect size for little ones and they come with the lids and straws!
First I took one cup and cut it apart to get a pattern. Then traced my pattern onto some scrapbook paper.

Next I cut the pattern out and glued the paper to a cup.

I embellished each cup with a silk flower attached to the lid with a glue dot and centered over the straw opening. I also added a butterfly, I die cut from my Stampin' Up die set, to each straw using a glue dot.
{can't live without glue dots!}

Then I added more of the die cut butterflies around the cup and each girls name I die cut with my old QuicKutz set and that's it.

Have a great week!

A Fairy Birthday Party

Hi there!  So here it is, the fairy birthday party I had for my Samantha. I would love to say it went perfectly and I got tons of amazing pictures but that is not the case. My older daughter was supposed to be helping me in the picture taking department but got a little sidetracked and we didn't get pictures of everything I wanted. But with that said, the party was very fun and everyone had so much fun playing and being a fairy princess. And the rain waited until everyone had gone home which was very nice because it poured and blew my tents all over the place that I had set up. The hubby didn't use the stakes on the tents-bad decision- so at least it waited to do all that.
Let me start with the printables I ordered from Heather at  they were her garden fairy themed set and I just loved them! I loved being able to order certain items or an entire set if I chose. I had never ordered printables before but I definitely will again  :0)  And Heather was so awesome to work with.
I wanted to do a garden fairy theme, not the typical Disney tinkerbell. Don't get me wrong, we do love our Disney around here. So I decided on pinks, greens, purples, turquoise, soft yellow etc...  basically girlie spring like colors. I truly love styling the kids birthday parties and always have. I always have ideas on what we can do, that it feels like it takes so long waiting for the birthdays to come around! We had two days of party time, we did a friends party on day one and then a family party on day two.  I hope you enjoy Samantha's garden fairy birthday party, here are alot of pictures to check out...

~The sweet stand on day one~
My hubby and I made the stand, I used my trusty Command
velcro strips to attach the pink topper to the stand.
The letters I had cut out from a local print shop because
I do not have the Cameo-yet- it's on my wish list  :0)

Her cake I ordered from Publix, I opted to take the easy way
this day, and we really love our Publix cakes around here.

can you tell she got makeup as a gift :0)

Each girl had a personalized cup and a flower bowl
with fairy gummies at her seat

I really love how these turned out! I found the
bird cages on clearance at Michaels, sparkle grass
for .15 at Hobby Lobby, and the rest from Michaels
of course on sale

another bird cage

Mushroom from Hobby Lobby
Figurines from Michaels
I originally had the moss to run down the center and we just
could not tolerate the smell it had so that was a scratch and
left us with a more simple table scape

Now we did have more foods, but this is where my helper
got sidetracked, I think she took a break to eat and
well just forgot to finish taking pictures :0)

to store for another use, and they are so pretty  :0)

The Thank you printable flyer

Well I think that is about all for photos I can squeeze into one post. I wish I had more pictures of the girls activities they did but I do not. They painted a fairy house, made bracelets, and colored fairy pictures.
I hope you liked the party and I am definitely happy I used the printables from chickabug and will
shop with Heather again for my parties.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
